My nerdiest Halloween…ever…so far

Ok – so usually, as many females do on this holiday – I take the route of finding the sexiest interpretation of a character and wear it proudly out in the streets. Never – I mean NEVER – do I go out to clubs or even on the damn subway in the outfits I put together for Halloween.

For example – my outfit last year – 50’s pin-up girl – I wore out in public denim underwear! That I made – and the only way to get high-waisted denim undies to fit you correctly is do it yourself! trust me!)  But who cares? Its the holiday where you can wear whatever and nobody can judge or point. But if they do point – thats good, cause you’re wearing something on a night of freaks that got attention!

So this year – I took a completely different root – I did obscure and fully covered – I wore PANTS! and long sleeves! and relatively flat shoes! This was also my first trek out into the world as a nerd, not sexy girl – “hey look at me, I’m a slutty firefighter in thigh-highs and a yellow coat”  its true – I saw that at the CORNER of Queen and Spadina – ladies of you’re gonna dress like that STAY OFF THE CORNERS!!!

I was Tsunade – a character from an Anime that my man James and I LOVE – so we decided to deck ourselves out and go out as characters: Jiraiya and Tsunade – its ok if you have NO IDEA who we are – we discovered the joy of being in our own little world, and the few people who did get it (or admit it in public) we got an even better feeling.

So in conclusion, I liked being a nerd girl for a night. Perhaps next year I shall find a fine balance of sexy and nerd….hmmmmmm - ladies! wear whatever you want! Halloween is a time to let whatever out – whether it be your inner slut or inner nerd – just let it out, and then we go back to out slightly more normal selves the next day. And stay off the corners little firefighters! and yes, I am thinking about next year already….
